The woman who TOUCHED JESUS...
….I think I know how she felt, the woman - that woman with the issue of blood. It’s like having a plague that follows you wherever you go. You've done everything you possibly can to change your uncomfortable situation. They condemn you. They don’t understand. You don’t understand. The problem just sits there. For instance: the wayward child, the drug habit, the disease, etc... The more you lose is the more you lose. Your loss is not on account of your efforts nor lack thereof. It’s based on external circumstances that you have no control of. Job lost one thing after another. Big losses, continuous losses, unexplainable losses. Have you ever been there? Have you ever had an unpleasant situation that seemed like a recurring nightmare which was so much bigger than you - BUT GOD!
Luke 8:43-48
43 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,
44 Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.
Sometimes you just have to press through all the distractions and obstacles to the place where HE is. Psalm 22:3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel. Sometimes you have to seek God for yourself about the thing that you suffer the most pain about. You have to believe that HE is who HE says HE is. HE is a healer. Miracles is what HE does best. HE will deliver you if you keep going until you get to HIM for yourself. Get HIS attention, do what you must; and don't leave until you've gotten HIS attention. Inspite of the crowd HE is always aware of those who seek HIM out. Remember Zacchaeus?
What Jesus thought about her....
28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Jesus said HE came for the sick, the unrighteous, the oppressed. HE brought a Kingdom whose culture corrects the wrong(ed) and empowers them to sin no more. In addition, the Kingdom of God empowers us to take charge. We are a people with a 'newfound' identity and authority. The things that once kept/ held us captive have lost their power to do so when we activate the principles of the Kingdom of God in our lives. Death is no longer final, ask Lazarus. Oppression is no longer final, ask the men who lived in the graveyard. Sickness is no longer final, ask the woman.
TESTIMONY: A prostitute comes to ChristDon't give up on God, for HE won't give up on you!
