We were made to live in community. Our actions or lack thereof affect each other. There is a saying that goes…. I am man, nothing hum...

Man is a Spirit with a body, not the other way around....

Man is a Spirit with a body, not the other way around....

God created mankind before HE formed man.  In Genesis 1 God first created everything that mankind would need before HE created mankind.  In fact, mankind i.e. male and female were the last 'things' God created before HE rested.  God said, "let us make man in our own image and likeness.  God is a Spirit.  So if HE created us in HIS image and likeness, that means HE created a Spirit.  God did this on the sixth day.  On the seventh day God rested.  Then after that in Genesis 2 sometime after, God formed man from the ground and woman from man's ribs.  God created mankind before HE gave us a body.  We existed before we had a body.

It is extremely important that we as humans understand God's intentions when HE created us.  God is always purpose driven.  HE does absolutely nothing without a motive.  A spirit is more powerful than a body.  But a spirit needs a body in which to act.  It's like cooking a meal.  You need the pot to put the ingredients in, in order for the meal to be prepared.  The meal has to be prepared in some kind of cookware.  The body represents the cookware.  Some meals are delicious and healthy while others taste awful and are unhealthy, even poisonous.   The good meals are angels and the bad meals are demons.

Angels are spirits that are subject to the leadership of the Heavenly Father.  While demons are angels who refused to be ruled by God.  Instead they followed satan and were disobedient to God; hence God kicked them out of heaven.  When Adam disobeyed God he gave his permission to rule the earth over to satan and his demons.  Only people who take back their authority are not governed by the devil.  Angels exists in the earth to defend and protect people who are surrendered to God's leadership. The Holy Spirit is God's assigned governor to HIS people in the earth.  John 14 HE is the spirit with the most authority on earth.  HE dictates the will of the Heavenly Father in the earth.  HE is a part of the triune God. HE knows exactly what the Heavenly Father wants done in the earth and how it should be done.  HE guides and instructs humans in their submission to the will of God in their individual lives. HE is God.   John 16 HE is a 'person' not a thing.  HE has emotions. Ephesians 4 HE has a role.  The more we understand that we are unable to be victorious in our lives without the help of the Spirit, the more subdued we will become.  Humans are like pawns, either dominated by the spirit of God or the spirit of demons.  You can tell which spirit governs a man by the way he operates.  Like a tree, there are fruits. Galatians 5  The good news is that God has given every single human the power to dominate every spirit in the earth.  We choose the level of power they have in us or through us.  God is always in control.  We just have to submit to HIS Lordship over whatever circumstance we face. Jesus brought the formula!

PICTURE THIS: The significance of The Holy Spirit is to colonize the earth with the government of heaven.  It's like when Europe dominated the West Indies with colonization in the 17th century.  The houses, dress code, businesses, schools, language etc... reflected what was done in the 'motherland'.  French colonies spoke french, english colonies spoke english and spanish colonies spoke spanish.  So too heaven has a language, business and lifestyle that the Holy Spirit is responsible for transferring and maintaining in the earth.  HE is the governor assigned by the Heavenly Father to dictate in the earth.  Jesus when HE came to earth in human form was full of the Holy Spirit.  The only problem was, HE was the only one full of HIM.  One Of Jesus' major responsibilities was to prepare us properly for the arrival of the Holy Spirit in our lives.  HE was an example of how to submit and co-exist with the Holy Spirit in us.  Luke 4 Each man has his own spirit, but he has to submit to the rulership of the Holy Spirit simultaneously.  The Holy Spirit helps us with understanding and wisdom.  HE brings revelation for how to attempt to resolve our day to day issues.  Without HIM we cannot please God.  John 4  In order to live fulfilled lives we need to live in purpose.  God created each life with a purpose, for a unique destiny.  We can't know what that really is without revelation.  There's no way to know and understand what the King is saying without being introduced by someone who has been in HIS Presence.  Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal himself to you.  HE knows what you were created to do.

John 8: 7 Let him who is without sin throw the first stone...

John 8: 7 Let him who is without sin throw the first stone...

John 8: 7 When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.”

John 8 This is a story about a woman who was caught in adultery.  Back in those days it was the culture or rather law of the day to stone people who committed a crime.Adultery was a sin that women if caught were punished by being stoned to death. Here's my question?  What about the men?  Surely there would have been a man involved.  Why wasn't he punished? That's one of the reasons why it was necessary for The Lord Jesus Christ to come to earth and live among us.  The law was not sufficient enough to convict the perpetrators.

God's intent for HIS people was not to be constantly punishing them for wrong doing, but instead to help them understand why they could and should live without the desire to do wrong.  God's intent was and has always been to love HIS people, not hurt them or cause them pain.  Sin is like electricity in a socket.  It's dangerous and could/ will kill you the longer you are exposed to it.  Once you know and understand the significance and danger as a human being you will approach with caution or not at all.  It's currency for light not humans.  Just as we can avoid a socket, so too we can avoid sin.  Or rather, we can contain it.  It's an avoidable discipline. 1 Corinthians 10 Jesus became human to teach us how to be successful as holy people.

Everything takes practice..

No skill is learnt on the first attempt.  Jesus spent three years teaching his followers how to live fulfilling lives as humans.  HE didn't come to change the laws, but to fulfill them.  Matthew 5 God's people knew HIS word, but they didn't understand it.  Jesus brought revelation of the laws.  God didn't create robots.  HE created humans.  The greatest quality about being human is the ability to be in relationship by choice and with a loving intent.  We were created in God's image and likeness.  Genesis 1 Hence we were created with the capacity to love and forgive.  Forgiveness is a major ingredient of love. Since Adam and Eve, God has been forgiving HIS people over and over for the error of their ways.  HIM sending Jesus was the epitome of HIS forgiveness.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that HE sent HIS only begotten Son.  That whosoever believeth in HIM should not perish but have everlasting life.

In this story, Jesus is saying to God's people.  Just as your Heavenly Father has forgiven you for your sins; so too you should forgive others.  No one has gotten it correct from the beginning.  We are all guilty of having committed some kind of sin at one point or other.  Unlike the woman, we might not have been caught.  Nevertheless, the moral of the story is not that we can't sin, but that we should lose our appetite for it.  Jesus told the woman that HE did not condemn her.  But more importantly, that she should go on with her life without being guilty of this sin again.  Matthew 5 If it wasn't in her capacity to abstain, HE wouldn't have given her those instructions.  So too are HIS instructions towards us.  Luke 1  Just as we can gain an appetite for something, we can lose it just as well.  Jesus taught us self control by example.  For instance: Jesus fasted for 40 days without any food.  The human body can go 40 days without food.  That's our capacity.  Our culture has taught us to go a few hours at a time.  Some people eat around the clock.  But the way we diet is a discipline and so too is our control of our appetite for sin.  Be ye holy as I am holy.  That's God's command to us. Let us not just plan to abstain, but let's start practicing.  Avoid the things that feed our appetites.  Focus on those things that starve them. Philippians 4 For we can do ALL THINGS through Christ who gives us the strength that we'll need to overcome.

You are so much more STRONGER than you know; BELIEVE GOD!

John 11:25 - 26 I am the Resurrection and The Life....

John 11:25 - 26  I am the Resurrection and The Life....

25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

John 11 This is a story about Jesus and HIS friends.  Jesus had three friends who were siblings whom HE loved.  They were two sisters Mary and Martha, and a brother Lazarus.  Now while Jesus was in another part of town ministering the gospel HE got news that HIS very good friend Lazarus was sick and dying.  Two days after HE was told Lazarus died.  But Jesus deliberately waited for Lazarus to die so that HE could get the publicity as being the person HE was professing to be i.e. the Son of God - the Messiah.  God had promised the Israelites through Moses that he would send them a Messiah to finally deliver them from the constant bondage which they fell captive to from different nations.  They were living in anticipation of HIM.

It was during the time of 'the Passover' which is a very popular Jewish holiday where all Jews return to Jerusalem to celebrate the history of their exodus as a nation released from slavery in Egypt.  A lot of Jewish people had traveled from different parts of the world to partake in the tradition. The Jewish people were once held in slavery in Egypt and God sent Moses 'as it were to the King Pharoh with an order/ warrant for their release.  But the King refused to obey God's decree. As a result God sent 10 plagues to Egypt to convince the King to surrender 'HIS PEOPLE'.  The King was indignant and stubborn and didn't surrender until the tenth plague where God killed the firstborn of every Egyptian household. The Israelite children only lived if they obeyed God's command to kill a lamb and plaster the blood over their doorposts. The Israelites did what God commanded and their children lived.  But all the children in the Egyptian kingdom died, including the Pharoh's son.  As a result the King released the Jews and allowed them to leave under the leadership of Moses.  1 Peter 1 The lamb was slain and its blood smeared over the doorpost. This was a foreshadow of Jesus as the lamb of God who's blood would once again save God's people.  For the Jews, the blood of the lamb is an acceptable sacrifice to God for the remission of their sins. Hebrews 9  The blood of the lamb signifies sanctification.  That miracle in Egypt is what 'broke the camel's back'.  It brought conviction of the power and sovereignty of God.

The Jews in Jerusalem were not used to seeing anyone come back to life from the dead. So it was an opportune time for Jesus to reveal HIS Sovereignty and connection to God.  Jesus was the revelation of God's power in the flesh when HE decided to raise Lazarus from the dead.  This was the perfect introduction - the power to control life and death.  In Egypt the Israelite children lived and the Egyptian children died.  Now in Bethany, near Jerusalem Lazarus would first die then be brought back to life.  Only the true God had that power.  Jesus needed to prove that HE represented the true God.  The Egyptians had many gods just like the Romans who ruled the Israelites at that time.  Jesus' friends had seen HIM do miracles before, but they'd never seen HIM raise the dead.  When Martha ran to meet Jesus while HE was on HIS way to their house, she was convinced HE could've healed her brother before he died.  When her sister Mary ran to meet HIM she was convinced HE would raise him at the end of time.  But they weren't convinced Jesus had power to raise the dead.  Who knew that Moses would cross the Red Sea?  After Egypt and the Red Sea Moses didn't need to try to convince anyone anymore about his relationship with God and God's power.   So too, after Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead everyone believed in HIM and HIS power; and HIS enemies began to seriously plot to kill HIM, because HE was living proof.

If we believe that Jesus is the Messiah, HE decrees that we have the same power that HE had when HE raised Lazarus. John 14 If we have faith in HIM whatever situation in our lives that seems 'dead' i.e. no longer able to occur; we can do what HE did. We have the power.  We can cause it to be restored just like Job's family and wealth.  We can face any grave and command the dead to walk out be it a person, position or thing etc...  Moses died in the dessert, but he was resurrected - because he was seen speaking to Jesus on the Mount Olivet thousands of years later. Resurrection for the believer is the end game. Death is not final for the believer in God. Moses believed God. He had a real relationship with God, so did Jesus.  The question is, do you have a real relationship with God?  Moses spent a lot of time with God before he went back to Egypt.  He had grown up there, but ran away for awhile.  Jesus spent a lot of time with God before HE started HIS ministry on earth.  How much time do you spend with God?  What do you need to tell "come forth".

Believe God!
