Tired, need something more?

Tired, need something more?

Like the heavy pouring rain drowning out the sound of everything else,
do you ever feel so overwhelmed?  Have you ever had a situation where you looked for answers but they were never enough.  All the solutions you've encountered thus far are just never enough.  Harder still, if it's a situation that maybe you are the only one fully aware of how desperate you are for the right solution.

What is your prognosis....

Do you feel stuck? Do you have a really bad habit or situation that's destroying you and/ your loved ones.  For instance: drugs, alcoholism, pornography, promiscuity, cheating, stealing, lies, gambling, debt, etc... It doesn't have to continue to be that way. Christ came to fill that void.  HE died to quench that thirst once and for all with something that is sufficient to eradicate all of your wrongful desires.  Christ came to set you free from that stronghold, whatever it is. And HE comes in search of you like the woman at the well.   HE knows where to find you and HE intentionally comes to sit and wait on you to acknowledge HIM.

St. Jon 4: 4-26

4 Now he had to go through Samaria. 5 So he came to a town in Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground Jacob had given to his son Joseph. 6 Jacob’s well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about noon.

7 When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?” 8 (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.)

9 The Samaritan woman said to him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.)

10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”

11 “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? 12 Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?”

13 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

15 The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water so that I won’t get thirsty and have to keep coming here to draw water.”

16 He told her, “Go, call your husband and come back.”

17 “I have no husband,” she replied.

Jesus said to her, “You are right when you say you have no husband. 18 The fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. What you have just said is quite true.”

19 “Sir,” the woman said, “I can see that you are a prophet. 20 Our ancestors worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem.”

21 “Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

25 The woman said, “I know that Messiah” (called Christ) “is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.”

26 Then Jesus declared, “I, the one speaking to you—I am he.”

Jesus was practical....

Jesus was God on earth, so HE knew in advance that the Samaritan woman was going to be coming by the well at that hour of the day.  HE also knew that she was going to be alone, and HE knew all of her story.  She was unfulfilled.  She had had five husbands plus another man she was seeing, and they were still not enough for her.  Having had such a colorful lifestyle back in those days was an embarrassing thing.  Surely the other women denied her friendship.   Can you imagine the gossip and disdain which she must have endured?  She came to the well alone at midday, a time when no one else would have been there.  The scorn, abuse, rejection and condemnation she must have endured.  Yet God chose her to sit with.  God chooses us.  HE understands what it feels like to be tired.  HE too was tired when HE met her.  HE'D been busy ministering with HIS disciples and HE was resting when she came.  God understands your pain.  Let HIM help you to deal with it.  HE'S the only one who can quench that thirst inside of you. Let HIM!

Philippians 4:19

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

The solution to the problem....

God's riches are not on earth, they are in heaven 'the headquarters' of the Kingdom of God.  In order for us to rightfully access those resources we have to 'tap into God's warehouse'.  Whatsoever we bind on earth is bound in heaven, and whatsoever we loose on earth is loose in heaven.  Matthew 16 Our only way to heaven is through Jesus.  But the way to access Jesus is through the leading of The Holy Spirit. Jesus told the woman that God's worshipers must worship HIM in spirit and in truth.  The kind of human worship that pleases God needs assistance from The Holy Spirit. Jesus offered the woman 'a spring of water welling up to eternal life'. John 7  HE was referring to The Holy Spirit.  Jesus commands us believers/ and children of God to be filled with The Holy Spirit. John 14  Just as we need to take a shower with each new day or eat breakfast every morning; so too God expects us to relate to The Holy Spirit on a daily basis.

Each new day often has new challenges that we need guidance with.  Some of them need us to just use our authority as children of God to overcome them, while other need prayer and fasting.  Fasting is very powerful especially for 'besetting sins/ obstacles in our lives.  This could be bad habits, overpowering circumstances, direct attack from the devil and his demons, etc....  TRUE Fasting brings the physical under submission to the spiritual.  It is very important to note that victory in The Kingdom of God is not achieved the same way as in the kingdom of the world.  Humans don't fight, angels do on our behalf.  Some strongholds are destroyed by worship and praise, not vengeance.   It's God's pleasure to win on our behalf because HE gets the glory out of it, plus HE does love us.  HE instructs us to cast all of our cares upon HIM because HE cares for us. Matthew 11  When you're tired find rest in God.  When you long for more answers and fulfillment drink from HIS well, find The Holy Spirit.  The water flows unendingly connect with 'The Source'.

1 Samuel 17: Face your Goliath in the Name Of The Lord

1 Samuel 17
Face your Goliath in the Name Of The Lord - Learn about God's Kingdom, your Kingdom, the rest is history!

All you have to do is believe. It's that simple. Just as you have faith that the plane/ train/ bus/ car will take you to your destination so too you must believe God. The manufacturer of the motor vehicle is excited for you to take his car for a test run. He knows what it is capable of. The chef is delighted for you to try his gourmet recipe that he spent hours preparing. The scientist is breathless for you to try his newest invention. So too God is enchanted for you to prove HIS GLORY. HE wants to show you what HE'S capable of and how much HE really cares for you.

Like David, HE has given you a talent of some sort; something that you're really good at. HE gave it to you to explore, practice and get really good at it, so that when the time is right all you'll have to do is look within you and use it to the best of your ability.  Matthew 25 Like the parable of the master who on leaving his house entrusted his property to his servants. Upon return, he expected them to increase/ improve on what he had given each of them to steward. Everyone has God given talent(s). We are stones, born with perfect gems within each of us. In Genesis 1 everything that God created was good. That means that you are an original masterpiece. There's only one you in 6 billion people living in the earth today.  No one else has your fingerprint.  Man is the only thing that God formed; everything else HE spoke it into being. You were specially crafted. HIS Word says HE knew us before we were in our mother's womb. That's like a seed before it's put into the ground to bear fruit. God knows what you and I are capable of. But more importantly, HE knows what we can accomplish when we partner with HIM.

2 Peter 1:3

His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue.

God's love is 100% pure....

There is nothing alive that wasn't made by God, even Goliath. God isn't afraid of 'our goliaths' i.e. our oppositions/ hurdles/ enemies/problems/ issues that we have no idea how to deal with. In fact, life is riddled with obstacles. You are either infront of one, heading into one or just come away from one. Challenges are a way of life; a way for God to declare HIMSELF as Sovereign over all the earth; a way for God to demonstrate HIS power and glory. It is important that we recognize and respect who HE is and what HE is capable of. If we could figure everything out for ourselves we wouldn't need God, nor would we appreciate HIM. We need to understand and trust HIS motives. First of all, God never retracts on HIS Word.  If HE says HE'S going to do it HE will. Everything HE does is driven by HIS love for us. Romans 5 When we trust in God it doesn't matter what we face. HE delights in using HIS Power to demonstrate HIS Love for us towards anything that would want to deter HIS plans for the success of the gifts HE has placed in or given to us.

God is a King....

The Almighty God is The Supreme King of both the heaven and the earth.  Psalm 47 HE is Sovereign over all i.e. there is no power that exist outside of HIS dominion that is more powerful than HIM.  Whatever HE creates, institutes or does cannot be undone by anyone.  HIS Word is final.  As a King, whatever HE decrees is law.  HIS government is not democratic, republic nor any other system than royal.  The rules and regulations of HIS government are not open for debate.  You either obey or disobey.  When you disobey you are seen as an enemy of The Kingdom.  That's the way it works in a Kingdom.  There are protocols which need to be followed.  In a Kingdom, a king is responsible for the welfare of his citizens.  Their lifestyle reflect his glory i.e. nature, character and wealth.  For instance: the neighborhood you live in, the house, the clothes you wear, the school you attend, etc... reflect your parents' wealth and preferences.  When you become a child of God you are a citizen of HIS Kingdom.  All citizens have rights and privileges.  These are based on the laws and constitution of that kingdom.  The more familiar the citizens are of what is acceptable, the more they can take advantage of the opportunities in their kingdom.  Knowledge is key.  It is important to know your talent(s) and the King's resources at your disposal.

“I cannot go in these,” he said to Saul, “because I am not used to them.” So he took them off. 40 Then he took his staff in his hand, chose five smooth stones from the stream, put them in the pouch of his shepherd’s bag and, with his sling in his hand, approached the Philistine.

41 Meanwhile, the Philistine, with his shield bearer in front of him, kept coming closer to David. 42 He looked David over and saw that he was little more than a boy, glowing with health and handsome, and he despised him. 43 He said to David, “Am I a dog, that you come at me with sticks?” And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. 44 “Come here,” he said, “and I’ll give your flesh to the birds and the wild animals!”

45 David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. 47 All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.”

When God says I will NEVER leave you nor forsake you, BELIEVE HIM!   Deuteronomy 31 As a child of God HIS Kingdom is your inheritance. After the devil deceived Adam and Eve in Eden God promised to restore access in Genesis 3 Jesus brought that restoration. Matthew 16 It has always been HIS intention to let you have dominion in HIS Kingdom on earth. Power and authority is what God had in mind for mankind all along.  All you have to do is accept and believe HIS commands.

Genesis 1: 26 -28

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Do not allow yourself to be distracted by anyone or even your own thoughts.  (David did not allow his brothers, Saul, the soldiers, anyone to distract him from his belief in God) Whatever you need a VICTORY for, believe HIM.  It could be a bad relationship, a sickness, a trauma, a loss, a fear so overwhelming that it cripples you, steals your joy, weakens you.  BELIEVE HIM! That was never HIS plan for your life, NEVER! Jesus overcame so that we could do the same.  We have power and authority on earth to overcome our circumstances.  We can take control. John 16 We do not have to live subject to any other authority but that of The Almighty God through the leading of The Holy Spirit whom Jesus left as our teacher.  John 14 Afterall, this 'Kingdom thing' is all new to us.  We need someone who understands it and is familiar with its territory and government system. Draw close to God, and HE will draw nigh to you.  Call upon HIS NAME and watch HIM win.

Yeshua - JESUS...The Messiah

Have you ever just been waiting with such anxiety for something/ someone special to arrive like a grandma, a friend, a graduation, a date, a wedding day or a special birthday, etc...  This particular person or thing fills your heart with joy just by thinking about them.  That's the history of THE MESSIAH.

8 Ways to Improve Sleep by Enhancing Your Dreams  HE was promised by God to a nation, Israel, who was often always being held captive by another nation and they were just tired of being in bondage.  After they were delivered from slavery in Egypt, the Israelites were led by Moses towards the Land God had promised them since Adam their forefather.  They were so used to being in bondage that when God offered them a new way of life they refused and reverted to their traditions of worshiping idols.  Nevertheless, God continually delivered them from their enemies.  HE wanted to be their King, but they wanted to be like the other nations around them with a physical king.

God's intent....

All along, God made man to rule the earth while they were being submitted to HIS rulership.  They didn't understand that.  They didn't know how.  Constantly they failed. That's why The Almighty God had to send Jesus - 'The Messiah' who would give them 'The Governor' - The Holy Spirit to teach them how to. After Moses died, Joshua led them into the "Promise Land'.   God gave them Saul their first human king, and then David.  David was a King who loved and honored God so much that God destroyed all of their enemies and gave them extended peace and wealth.  Finally they enjoyed freedom, peace and wealth all at the same time.  David was a man after God's own heart.  1 Samuel 13; Acts 13 But then sometime after David's death they went back to idol worshiping.  Once again they were taken into captivity because of their disobedience. Over and over again they got caught in a cycle of bondage. They dreamt of a freedom which was growing vague in their memories.  Once upon a time they used to be rich and prosperous and peaceful and happy.  They wanted to experience that again - to be at peace with a leader, someone who had their best interest at heart, in their own town. Zechariah 9

God loves all people, everyone of HIS creation....

But there's a flipside to this same MESSIAH.  HE didn't just come to save a 'Chosen Nation' - the Jews.  God decided to deliver them once and for all and from every enemy that could ever attack them in the future.  HE decided to destroy the source of their opposition - the devil.  There are two 'realms' in the earth: the physical and the spiritual.  The spiritual realm is more powerful and real than the physical.   Also there are two kingdoms in the earth: the kingdom of this world which is governed by the devil, and the Kingdom of God (heaven on earth) which is governed by God's children.

When Jesus came to the earth HE brought with HIM from heaven the power and authority of the Kingdom of God for the people of God.  Once HE established this Kingdom ' the rest was history'.  Jesus brought the dominion of the spiritual realm into the physical realm. HE destroyed the devil's kingdom and left man in charge of his freedom under the supervision of The Holy Spirit. Isaiah 9 God in HIS Great Love extended that invitation to the Gentiles - whosoever will.  HE didn't just resolve to save HIS people from their existing enemies but to remove all enemies from their experience once and for all even though they did not deserve it.  They rejected HIM.  But true love is inspite of, not because of.   It is a choice in advance.  It's like a mother's love for her newborn baby.

John 3: 16

For God so loved the world that HE sent HIS only begotten son. That whosoever believeth in HIM shall be saved.

Also, God's intent was to reconnect man to HIS presence.  Adam and Eve used to walk with God.

John 14:3

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also

God - Elohim has given each of us a chance to live a life so fulfilling, yet so undeserving based on HIS sacrifices, not ours.  Who does that?  Who intercepts your judgement for his? Who dies for his enemies? Who bequeaths to the ungrateful?  Who gives up his best to a stranger who does not have enough to pay for it?  Philippians 2 Which King invites a peasant to live in HIS castle at HIS expense?   This is the true essence of THE MESSIAH.  HE has chosen to love us and to give us the privilege to be in an individually intimate relationship with a generous and all powerful King.

Isaiah 53

Who has believed our message
and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
He grew up before him like a tender shoot,
and like a root out of dry ground.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.
He was despised and rejected by mankind,
a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.
Like one from whom people hide their faces
he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.

Surely he took up our pain
    and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God,
    stricken by him, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions,
    he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
    each of us has turned to our own way;
and the Lord has laid on him
    the iniquity of us all.

He was oppressed and afflicted,
    yet he did not open his mouth;
he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
and as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
so he did not open his mouth.
By oppression and judgment he was taken away.
Yet who of his generation protested?
For he was cut off from the land of the living;
for the transgression of my people he was punished.
He was assigned a grave with the wicked,
and with the rich in his death,
though he had done no violence,
nor was any deceit in his mouth.

10 Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer,
and though the Lord makes his life an offering for sin,
he will see his offspring and prolong his days,
and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand.
11 After he has suffered,
    he will see the light of life and be satisfied;
by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many,
and he will bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great,
and he will divide the spoils with the strong,
because he poured out his life unto death,
and was numbered with the transgressors.
For he bore the sin of many,
and made intercession for the transgressors.

Romans 8:1

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

HE doesn't condemn us based on our past; but HE forgives us and embraces us inspite of our flaws.   Who does that?  Are you flawed today, broken even?  Do you need acceptance, peace, and protection? Are you being held captive physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually? Turn to God.  Accept HIS love.  HE is a deliverer, your deliverer! THE MESSIAH came to give you life and life more abundantly.  Only HE can free you from any and every bondage you face today in your life.  HE restores control, your control of your life and destiny according to God's original plan for your life.

Matthew 4: 3- 9 Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted….

STORY

Matthew 4: 3- 9

Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted….

The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’
Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written:
“He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’
Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’
Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”

At the end of power there is praise.  Power summons applause, acknowledgement and authority.  The Almighty God is a jealous God. HE demands the glory. Everything thing we do should point back to HIM.  It’s a boomerang of a world that we live in. God made all things to praise HIM, even the demons.  They were kicked out of heaven because they tried to usurp HIS supremacy. The devil tried to deflect, to revert some of God’s glory to himself.  That’s it right there, EGO. The moment we begin to make it about us we begin to loose. Jesus often always reverted back to the Father, HIS father.  We need to discipline ourselves to do the same. We need to review our motives continuously. Who are we trying to impress? Who are we trying to please? Whose agenda are we on?  We should be careful not to loose sight of the mission. What does God require of me? Am I pleasing HIM? Am I in sync with the leading of HIS Holy Spirit?

It was not an accident...

Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.  It was an important part of the agenda.  The wilderness established HIS allegiance.  It prepared HIM for the road ahead. It was HIS starting line to identify the temptations that the devil would throw at HIM; and the mission HE was on.  Jesus declared from the get- go that HE was not about to give the devil any glory for any ‘fame/ fortune/ or misfortune’ that could lie in front and/ ahead of HIM.
  • Bread – referred to strength – physical sustenance i.e. emotional appeal. The devil appealed to Jesus’ nature – the biggest physical threat at the time; the thing which would have been on HIS mind – food. Jesus had just completed 40 days of no food.  HE was famished. The 1st obstacle/ thing in HIS human experience to overcome would have been his physical desire – hunger. Hunger makes us weak. It’s a natural response of the body. When we are weak it interferes with our focus. For Jesus, it was food.  But what is my biggest physical desire? What do I crave? What am I hungry for? It will interfere with my focus. It will make me weak if I don’t address it dead on.
  • Performance – referred to psychology – i.e. mental appeal.  We act according to our beliefs. The quality of our performance is based on the standard of our perception.  What does the best look like and whose standards are those? An excellent performance warrants praise. Who are we trying to please or impress.  If I’m trying to please you then am I doing what is on your agenda? If I’m trying to be popular then I’m swayed by the crowd. Our performance is always in comparison to something/  Performance – referred to psychology – i.e. mental appeal.  We act according to our beliefs. The quality of our performance is based on the standard of our perception.  What does our best look like and whose standards are those? An excellent performance warrants praise. Who are we trying to please or impress.  If I’m trying to please you then am I doing what is on your agenda? If I’m trying to be popular then I’m swayed by the crowd. Our performance is always in comparison to something/ someone else – a challenge.  The devil was calling Jesus to a challenge.  He did the same thing with Eve in the garden of Eden.  God calls us to obedience not comparison. Our roles are specific based on HIS ordinance.  God created man. Performance should be derived from purpose.  I am a car hence I drive.  I am a boat hence I sail. I am a man hence I’m obedient. I worship.  I need to be careful not to be influenced by my own opinion nor any other person's opinion but God's.
  • Praise – referred to power i.e. spiritual appeal.  Life and death is in the power of the tongue. The devil wanted Jesus to praise him.  He was willing to trade power for praise. The power is in the praise.  What we say has an adverse effect on our environs.  There is a spiritual world/ realm that exists simultaneous to the physical world.  The spiritual world is of more significance than the physical world i.e. more powerful. Both worlds have a ruling powers who dominate each territory. Both territories are at war with each other. The fight happens in the spiritual realm and then manifests itself in the physical realm.  Genesis 1 Originally God gave man power to dominate the physical territories.  But then man was deceived by the devil and gave/transferred that power to the devil.  So the devil continues to controls the physical realm if and when man allows him to.  This is because After Jesus Christ came to earth HE gave man the power to take back his authority from the devil.  At the end of the day, it's man's decision.
Galatians 5: 16 - 18

16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.

There is a conflict of interest....

The thing about the fight is that humans are the conduits/ vessels – used. Romans 6 We allow/ choose which god we will allow to use us. We choose which god to serve. That choice dictates our agendas. Each god has his own agenda. Both gods are enemies.  The god of the physical world is satan, and the God of the spiritual world is the Almighty God. The spiritual world/ realm also requires strength to focus and fulfill an agenda; primarily God’s agenda.

Bread is the physical food that gives physical strength; and the Word Of God is the spiritual (bread) food that gives spiritual strength.

Matthew 4:4

But HE answered and said, it is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Authority is reflected in speech. The more we speak the word of God in our circumstances, the more spiritually fit we become. And like Jesus, when the devil comes to tempt us we impress and please God with our response. We fight spirit with spirit.  Pay attention: Like Jesus, it is important that you be led by the Holy Spirit.  Do not attempt the wilderness in your own strength.  Do not attempt life in your own strength.
Also, it is imperative that you know The Word.
Psalms 119:11
Thy Word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against THEE.
All of God’s word from Adam and Eve to Revelation has one aim which is to give glory to The Almighty God. Everything that has breadth was made to praise the Lord! Everything that God made, HE made it to worship HIM.  You cannot worship God and mammon, either you will love one and hate the other.  I pray that like Joshua you will be able to say: Choose this day whom you will serve, but as for me and my house we will serve The Lord. Joshua 24
